How to tell if it was a gunshot or fireworks: gunshots don’t echo, fireworks do.
thaNK YOU SO MUCH
the fact that anyone might commonly need to know this terrifies me
clearly you’re not from america
Sorry, I’ve heard both. Repeatedly. In the last month.
They both echo. Just differently. And they both send me into a panic.
Gun shots definitely echo. I live near a military training range and during war games, the entire house shakes from it. We also have constant carnivals in my town that have fireworks as a finale. The echo of a gunshot is somewhat more muffled, most likely from whatever they are being fired into, as well as a definitely metallic ringing. Fireworks are more spectacular and are just shot straight into the air, so their echo is something more atmospheric? If that makes sense.
